Engineering Manager / Lead at Vega - VC-backed fintech

As the Engineering Manager at Vega, you will spearhead the technical evolution of a high-growth fintech platform. You will oversee 2–3 backend squads, shaping long-term microservices architecture using Java 21 and AWS. This role balances strategic technical leadership with hands-on mentorship to drive engineering excellence, security, and scalable system design.

• Provide technical leadership to multiple backend squads, guiding decisions on microservices modularity, system boundaries, and resilience.
• Define the long-term technical roadmap and backend standards across the organization to ensure consistent engineering quality and delivery.
• Mentor and grow senior engineers into technical leaders, helping shape career paths and a culture of high-performance and cross-team learning.

• Possesses 10+ years of engineering experience with a deep mastery of modern microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Has a proven track record of leading multiple teams within cloud-native environments, specifically utilizing AWS, Kubernetes, and Spring Boot.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills to bridge technical trade-offs with product priorities for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
