Head of Technical Staff at Anthrogen - YC-backed biotech startup

Lead the end-to-end production pipeline for the world’s largest protein foundation models. You will oversee pretraining, post-training, and inference for Odyssey, a 102B parameter biological model. This hands-on leadership role bridges frontier AI research and wet-lab validation to create novel therapeutics and molecular machines that do not exist in nature.

• Own the production model pipeline including large-scale pretraining, post-training, and inference optimization for flagship protein models.
• Lead and scale the Technical Staff team while collaborating directly with the co-founders on architectural decisions and research direction.
• Interface between fundamental AI research and the wet-lab platform team to validate generative designs through massively parallelized experiments.

• Must have 2+ years of experience at a frontier lab such as OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepMind, or top bio-AI labs like Isomorphic or Baker Lab.
• Proven track record of high-caliber research with publications at top venues like NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR and hands-on large-scale training experience.
• Deep technical expertise in ML/AI architectures with a genuine passion for biology; a PhD is welcomed but caliber and work history are prioritized.
