Principal Engineer at Azzurri Group-backed hospitality data SaaS

As the most senior individual contributor, you will serve as the technical right hand to the Head of Engineering. You will lead the architectural direction of an integration-heavy, serverless TypeScript platform that centralizes mission-critical data for major restaurant chains, ensuring high-quality delivery while mentoring a talented team of six engineers.

• Design and implement complex, event-driven architectures using AWS Lambda, Node.js, and PostgreSQL to connect hospitality ecosystems.
• Act as a technical mentor and point of contact, unblocking the engineering team through code reviews, architectural guidance, and best practices.
• Partner with leadership to balance technical debt with rapid feature delivery, ensuring the system remains performant and reliable as it scales.

• Exceptional hands-on coding skills in TypeScript across the full stack, with a deep specialization in backend serverless architectures and AWS.
• Proven track record of delivering complex integration-heavy platforms, ideally within a fast-paced startup, agency, or consultancy environment.
• Strong architectural vision with the ability to communicate sophisticated technical concepts clearly to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
