Senior Software Engineer at Theseus — YC-backed drone autonomy startup

You will build the critical operator-facing software layer for visual positioning systems that allow drones to navigate without GPS. Working across React, TypeScript, and Python, you will develop mission planning tools and data workflows used in contested environments. This role bridges the gap between advanced autonomy and real-world operational mission execution.

• Design and ship production-grade frontend applications and backend services for mission planning, map generation, and real-time telemetry analysis.
• Build and maintain robust internal APIs that interface between edge-deployed autonomous systems and cloud-based operational infrastructure.
• Partner directly with field and autonomy teams to translate ambiguous operator needs into reliable, user-facing product features for the Vozilla platform.

• 3-6 years of experience shipping production software at high-caliber startups or engineering organizations with a focus on reliability.
• Full-stack proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Python, with a strong background in designing data-intensive applications and database schemas.
• A pragmatic builder who thrives in high-stakes environments; experience in robotics, defense, or geospatial systems is a significant advantage.
