Senior Software Engineer at Series A neurosymbolic AI startup founded by Alexa creator

You will architect the future of reliable AI by merging LLMs with proprietary symbolic reasoning technology. As a senior engineer, you'll transition bespoke enterprise solutions into a scalable public platform, building high-performance APIs and document pipelines that deliver deterministic, explainable outcomes for top-tier financial institutions where accuracy is non-negotiable.

• Design and build the infrastructure for a new public API, including authentication, high-scale architecture, and developer experience tooling.
• Develop complex symbolic reasoning engines that represent regulatory knowledge as machine-evaluable rules and knowledge graphs.
• Scale production-grade document ingestion pipelines to handle sophisticated data extraction and OCR across multiple jurisdictions and formats.

• Expert-level proficiency in Python with a track record of shipping well-typed, production-quality code in collaborative monorepo environments.
• Deep experience with complex algorithms and data structures, specifically applied to non-trivial engineering problems or symbolic AI.
• Proven ability to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of new software systems from initial ideation to large-scale production deployment.

• Work under the leadership of William Tunstall-Pedoe, the founder behind Evi (the technology that became Alexa), alongside a team from Google and Amazon.
• Solve the "hallucination problem" in AI by building neurosymbolic guardrails that bridge the gap between probabilistic machine learning and deterministic computing.
