Systems Engineering at Project A-backed AI startup

You will architect the core infrastructure for an AI agent platform that replaces static websites with personalized, real-time experiences. Reporting directly to the CPTO, you will own deep backend domains including context engines, retrieval pipelines, and scaling OLAP systems to support an entirely new category of autonomous web interactions.

• Design and implement context engine and retrieval pipelines for autonomous AI agents using TypeScript and Temporal.io.
• Scale the data layer and OLAP infrastructure to handle real-time personalization and high-concurrency traffic on GCP.
• Collaborate with the CPTO to define the technical roadmap and systems architecture for a service-oriented backend using Postgres and Redis.

• Strong backend fundamentals in TypeScript and experience with distributed systems, workflow orchestration (Temporal/Cadence), or complex data pipelines.
• An obsessive craftsman who cares about maintainable code and "the beautiful piece of wood on the back" while maintaining a fast startup pace.
• High drive to master new domains like RAG, LLM evals, or reinforcement learning to build higher levels of system autonomy.
