Role overview

Join a team of five building the "vulnerability brain" for the enterprise. You will develop autonomous research agents that reproduce CVEs, validate detections in ephemeral labs, and automate remediation workflows. This role offers the chance to own core infrastructure—from distributed scanning runtimes to entity graphs—protecting Fortune 500 organizations with production-grade AI.

Hinoki is the self-driving exposure management platform for turning findings into fixes. It detects CVEs across cloud and on-premises environments and provides continuous vulnerability scanning and patching in one modern, unified platform.

What you will do

  • Architect and build distributed scanning runtimes and ephemeral test labs capable of reproducing and verifying thousands of published CVEs at machine speed.
  • Develop a live entity graph and provenance system that maps complex enterprise assets across cloud providers, ticketing systems, and ownership chains for auditable decision-making.
  • Engineer autonomous workflow pipelines that filter thousands of raw security findings into high-confidence remediation actions with attached evidence and rollback guidance.

Who this is a fit for

  • Possesses 3-6 years of experience shipping production-grade autonomous systems, specifically AI agents with robust multi-step reasoning and sophisticated failure handling.
  • Demonstrates deep technical expertise in distributed compute, large-scale workflow pipelines, and systems programming with a commitment to high-quality, high-provenance code.
  • Thrives in early-stage environments with a strong ownership mentality, capable of moving fast and wearing multiple hats to protect real organizations from emerging threats.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Join as the third engineer on a high-talent founding team where you will directly influence the architectural foundations of an autonomous security platform.
  • Work on cutting-edge production AI agents that go beyond prototypes to perform multi-step reasoning, tool use, and automated remediation in real-world environments.
  • Enjoy a high-energy, in-person culture in a premier San Francisco office by the Ferry Building, featuring comprehensive benefits like 5% 401(k) matching and relocation support.
