Role overview
Calibre is transforming the £190B TIC industry, the trust backbone of global commerce.
Every product you touch and system that keeps you safe relies on certification. Yet, this entire industry is broken. Incumbents like SGS and Bureau Veritas were built in the 1800s and still run on manual document checks and Excel, leading to months-long delays, massive inefficiency, and razor-thin margins.
We are rebuilding this industry from the ground up with AI-native agentic systems that can complete audits in days, not months.
We were founded by two ex-Palantir technical co-founders who have spent years deploying enterprise AI agent workflows across 20+ industries. We are applying the Palantir FDE playbook to an industry that has been untouched by technology.
What you will do
- Develop high-velocity, full-stack code across front-end, back-end, and sophisticated AI-agent infrastructure using tools like Claude Code and Cursor.
- Collaborate with founders to solve architectural challenges, specifically capturing human "tribal knowledge" into self-improving, agentic AI systems.
- Engage directly with design partners to translate complex manual certification processes into intuitive, automated digital solutions that solve real-world problems.
Who this is a fit for
- A top-tier programmer with 0-3 years of professional experience and a strong first-principles computer science background from a top university.
- AI-native developer who treats LLMs as a force multiplier and understands how to build robust frameworks around their inherent weaknesses.
- Language-agnostic problem solver with a portfolio of high-quality personal projects or hackathon wins that demonstrate exceptional technical talent and high output.
Why this role is remarkable
- Work directly with two ex-Palantir technical co-founders to master the "FDE playbook" for deploying complex AI workflows in enterprise settings.
- Join a well-capitalized team with a $3.3M pre-seed from top-tier San Francisco VCs targeting a broken £190B global industry.
- As a founding engineer, you will have total architectural ownership and influence, shipping critical code to real-world customers from day one.
