Role overview

As Industrialization Engineer, you will bridge the gap between R&D and production by coordinating Gallium Defense’s first radar prototypes. You will build small-series manufacturing capabilities from scratch and act as interim procurement lead. This is a critical role ensuring military-grade hardware reaches the field through scalable, cost-effective industrial processes.

Defense1-20 employees

Gallium Defense is a new start up that builds deployable, modular sensing systems designed for affordable protection, rapid field integration, scalable coverage, and cost-effective sensing solutions for defense and security use cases.

What you will do

  • Coordinate end-to-end manufacturing of first test prototypes, managing subcontractors, timelines, and quality checkpoints to deliver hardware on schedule.
  • Design and implement small-series production processes, including tooling, work instructions, and the supporting supplier base required for repeatability.
  • Serve as interim procurement lead, managing Bill of Materials (BOMs), component sourcing, and vendor relationships until the function is established.

Who this is a fit for

  • Holds a Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering with at least three years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrates expertise in industrialization and manufacturing engineering, specifically coordinating hardware production with external subcontractors and managing supply chains.
  • Is a hands-on generalist fluent in French and proficient in technical English, comfortable navigating ambiguity and complex manufacturing documentation.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Lead the transition from one-off prototypes to small-series production for critical national security hardware used against drone threats.
  • Work in the high-growth deep-tech sector, building rugged radar systems that provide affordable, high-performance 3D detection for defense operators.
  • Shape the manufacturing culture and engineering processes of an ambitious startup with direct visibility on the final system’s impact.
