Platform Engineer at Aranya

Join an elite founding team in San Francisco building a next-generation Kubernetes operating system. As an early Platform Engineer, you'll use Go, Cilium, and ArgoCD to architect a platform that makes cluster management invisible to developers. If you're passionate about distributed systems, custom operators, and high-performance storage like Ceph, this is your chance to define the future of cloud-native infrastructure at a high-growth startup.

Role overview

You will join the founding team to architect a platform that abstracts Kubernetes complexity through automation. By building custom Go operators, GitOps workflows, and advanced networking with Cilium, you will make massive-scale cluster management invisible. This is a rare opportunity to define the core architecture of a developer-centric infrastructure product.

Aranya ClusterdOS makes production-grade Kubernetes infrastructure accessible to solo developers and teams. We've built a GitOps-native distributed operating system that removes the operational barriers to Kubernetes adoption. No platform team required, just production-grade infrastructure from day one. We also offer managed Kubernetes services for bare metal deployments.

What you will do

  • Build and extend core platform features using Go to create custom Kubernetes operators and controllers that automate complex operational tasks.
  • Design and implement robust GitOps workflows using ArgoCD, Terraform, and Helm to ensure seamless, declarative infrastructure deployments.
  • Optimize container networking and observability using Cilium, Prometheus, and Grafana to provide high-performance security and real-time system health data.

Who this is a fit for

  • Deep production experience with Kubernetes internals, including CRDs, operators, and cluster architecture troubleshooting.
  • Strong proficiency in Go for building system-level tooling and distributed systems from the ground up.
  • Proven track record with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools like Terraform, Helm, and Ansible within cloud-native environments.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Work directly with the founding team to build ClusterdOS, a revolutionary system designed to simplify and scale complex cloud-native environments.
  • Solve deep technical challenges involving distributed storage (Ceph/WEKA) and federated Kubernetes architectures that push the boundaries of modern infrastructure.
  • Gain massive impact as an early engineering hire, establishing the platform patterns and practices that will define the company's technical trajectory.
