Product Engineer - Agent Economics at Causa Prima

As a Product Engineer for Agent Economics, you’ll design the auction mechanisms and pricing policies that allow AI agents to negotiate $90 trillion in global B2B payments. This is a rare opportunity to work with founders who built Taulia and Finoa, applying deep mechanism design to the future of the CFO’s office. If you have an adversarial mind and a passion for agentic AI, join this Madrid/Munich team to ship the protocols defining the next era of finance.

Role overview

You will own the economic design of an automated protocol where AI agents negotiate early-payment terms via sealed-bid auctions. You’ll bridge mechanism design and agentic AI, building simulations to ensure incentive integrity and calibrating pricing models. This role is central to creating a new category of autonomous financial infrastructure for global supply chains.

Enterprise, Software, FinTech, Finance1-10 employees

$90T moves via "duct-taped" workflows. Causa Prima is ending that. We’re building the first agentic AI network for finance: autonomous agents that negotiate and act, not just dashboards. Our founders built 10 startups and 2 unicorns ($400M+ raised). We’re replacing dead software with a self-operating network and a compounding data moat. If you want to build the future where AI makes financial decisions with judgment, join us.

What you will do

  • Calibrate auction mechanisms by building simulations against synthetic populations to measure efficiency and optimize design decisions for live deployment.
  • Design and govern deterministic pricing policies that allow the in-house underwriting book to bid effectively while remaining rule-bound and defensible.
  • Stress-test the protocol adversarially to identify collusion vectors, information leakage, and prompt-injection risks within the agent decision functions.

Who this is a fit for

  • Possesses deep grounding in auction theory or market design with the judgment to apply classical economic principles to non-human, agentic participants.
  • Demonstrates strong financial fluency in supply chain finance, credit, or treasury, understanding complex concepts like APR and dilution risk for CFOs.
  • Has hands-on experience building or testing LLM-based agent workflows using tools like Claude Code or Cursor, paired with an adversarial threat-modeling mindset.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Work at the cutting edge of mechanism design where the players are AI agents, using sealed-bid auctions to settle real-world B2B invoices in seconds.
  • Join an elite team backed by Creandum and founders who previously built unicorns and the payment rails used by global enterprises like SAP.
  • Operate in an AI-first engineering environment using coding agents, focusing your energy on high-level architecture and system integrity rather than manual boilerplate.
