Role overview

Join a high-caliber team of 25 building the encryption infrastructure used by Ramp, Rippling, and Sorare. As a Product Engineer on the Cards team, you will own the full lifecycle of payment primitives, from designing APIs to shipping production code that secures billions in annual transaction volume across global card networks.

Software

Evervault builds encryption and data security infrastructure for developers. APIs and primitives for tokenizing, encrypting, and processing sensitive data at scale - currently focused on powering the payments stack for companies like Rippling, Ramp, and Sorare.

What you will do

  • Design and build developer-facing APIs and primitives for card data security, tokenization, and network integrations.
  • Collaborate directly with enterprise customers to understand their payment stacks and translate complex security needs into production code.
  • Own features end-to-end across the full stack, including backend services, SDKs, UI components, and technical documentation.

Who this is a fit for

  • 3-10+ years of experience in product engineering with strong fundamentals in distributed systems, networks, and infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to ship high-quality developer tools or infrastructure products with a relentless focus on API design and user experience.
  • Deep curiosity and a bias for action; prior experience in payments domain (3DS, card networks, or compliance) is a significant advantage.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Work at a Tier-1 VC backed startup (Sequoia, Index, Kleiner Perkins) that recently closed a $25M Series B and is scaling 4x year-over-year.
  • Direct impact on core infrastructure: you aren't building to spec, you're shaping the future of how card data is tokenized and processed at scale.
  • Exceptional engineering culture with a high bar for craft, working primarily with Rust and TypeScript in a hybrid Shoreditch-based team.
