Role overview
As the third engineer at yhangry, you will lead the charge in rebuilding our platform from the ground up using AI-native workflows. Working closely with the Head of Engineering, you’ll architect scalable systems, integrate AI agents into core product experiences, and ship customer-centric features that drive immediate business value for our global marketplace.

Yhangry is a chef marketplace, which helps customers book private chefs to come and cook for any occasion such as birthdays, hen parties or weekly meal prep. We work with 600+ chefs across the UK. We have pitched on Dragons’ Den and are backed by Y Combinator.
What you will do
- Architect and build a brand-new, AI-driven platform using TypeScript, React, and Node to replace existing systems for global scale.
- Design and deploy sophisticated AI agent workflows that enhance the booking experience for over 2,000 private chefs and their clients.
- Own the entire product lifecycle from ideation to deployment on Kubernetes, ensuring high-quality UX and robust engineering foundations.
Who this is a fit for
- Has 3-7 years of full-stack experience with strong foundations in TypeScript and Node, plus the ability to navigate PHP or Go microservices.
- Has fully adopted AI-assisted engineering workflows to ship code faster and more effectively while maintaining a deep understanding of core principles.
- Possesses a “founding engineer” mindset, thriving in small teams where they can identify business problems and solve them without a predefined ticket.
