Role overview

As the first dedicated recruiting hire, you will build the talent acquisition function from scratch for a mission-driven AI company. Partnering directly with the CEO, you will manage 11+ open roles across engineering, sales, and operations, designing the scalable processes and infrastructure that will define the company’s future growth and culture.

GovSignals is an AI-powered platform for government contracting that unifies capture, intelligence, proposal development, and compliance workflows. It automates opportunity discovery, RFP matching, compliant proposal generation, and analysis across federal, state, local, education, and defense sectors using proprietary data sources, FedRAMP High authorization, and advanced AI tools.

What you will do

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting across all functions, from technical engineering roles to go-to-market and compliance positions.
  • Design and implement hiring infrastructure, including structured interview playbooks, scorecards, and Ashby ATS workflow optimizations.
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership on organizational design, compensation benchmarking, and long-term talent strategy.

Who this is a fit for

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience with at least 2 years in-house at a high-growth startup or venture-backed company.
  • Proven track record of sourcing and closing high-caliber engineering and GTM talent without an established employer brand.
  • High ownership mentality with the ability to manage 10+ active searches while building operational systems from scratch.
