FAQs

Support

How can I get support? You can reach us anytime by hitting the "Get support" button inside the app, or by emailing support@jackandjill.ai. We're a small, responsive team and we genuinely want to hear from you — whether it's a bug, a question, or just feedback on how Jill's doing.

Pricing

When do I pay, and how much? You only pay when you hire someone you love. The fee is a one-time fee of 10% of the candidate's first-year base salary, invoiced when they sign a contract. (Not total comp, not including bonus, just their base salary.) There are no upfront costs, subscriptions, or retainers. See our Pricing page for more info. Full details on fees, invoicing, and refund policy are available in our Terms & Conditions.

Who can I speak to about subscription-based pricing? We don't currently offer subscriptions. Jill works on a simple success fee (10% of first-year base salary, only when you hire). If you're interested in volume-based or custom pricing for multiple hires, reach out to us at support@jackandjill.ai and we'll figure out something that works for you.

What about contractors? Our success fee is simply 10% of total compensation over 12 months. When a contractor converts to a permanent hire, the fee becomes 10% of the first-year base salary, minus whatever 10% contractor fees were already paid. See our Terms & Conditions for full details.

What if the hire doesn't work out? You will receive a full refund if they leave or are dismissed within the first three months. See our Terms & Conditions for the full refund policy.

Do I owe a fee if I already knew the candidate? No. If the candidate was already in your active recruitment pipeline within 6 months prior to our introduction (e.g. they applied directly, or you were in meaningful two-way conversations about a role), no fee is due. Just let Jill know and she can archive the candidate. (There's no need to tell us if a candidate you already know is Shortlisted: you only need to disclose when you hire someone.)

Is there a minimum commitment? No.

Do candidates pay anything? No. Jack is completely free for candidates.

Who Jill works for

Can third-party recruiters use Jill? Jill is built for companies hiring directly, not for third-party recruiters or agencies. If you work at an agency and are very keen to register your interest, you can email hello@jackandjill.ai to say so.

I'm an investor, can I hire for my portfolio companies? If you're an investor or advisor, you can absolutely introduce your portfolio companies to Jill. Each company signs up with their own account and works with Jill directly. It's a great way to help your portfolio hire faster without the agency markup.

Do you only hire for engineers? No. Jill covers roles across the whole spectrum, such as engineering, product, design, marketing, sales, operations, and leadership roles. She's especially strong for Seed to Series C companies, but she's not limited to technical hires.

Do you only hire in London and San Francisco? Right now, Jill's network is strongest in London, San Francisco and New York. However, we see introductions and hires being made all over the world, even in places we haven't officially launched. If you're hiring elsewhere, it's still worth trying Jill! You only pay on a successful hire, so there's no risk to trying her out.

What else can Jill do? Think of Jill like a trusted recruiting agent for your team, not just a search tool. She can help you write and refine your hiring brief, build a shortlist, manage your pipeline, draft candidate pitches, and learn from your feedback to get smarter over time. The more you use her, the better she gets.

Using Jill

If I change my brief, do I have to start again? No. Just tell Jill what's changed and she'll adjust. Your existing pipeline, shortlists, and intro history are all preserved. Jill re-runs her search with the updated criteria, so you get better results going forward without losing any of your progress. See Hiring Brief for more.

Will this take up a lot of time? Setup takes under 10 minutes. After that, Jill does the heavy lifting. All you need to do is review candidates and share feedback, just like you would with a recruiter. See Getting Started for the full setup walkthrough.

Where do Jill's candidates come from? Every candidate in Jill's network is already a Jack user. Jack (an AI job-seeking agent) has conversations with thousands of people every day, and through those conversations, Jack builds a rich, evolving profile of each person. When Jill searches for your role, she draws on all of that context, matching people to roles based on deep understanding of both sides. You can also search Public Profiles — see Search and Candidate Discovery for details.
